Unless you A) Make minimum wage or B) Your boss comes by today to tell you about your new $.70/hour raise, I would like to wish you happy pay cut day!
This is the day that our wonderful government decided that all of us mean, selfish people who don’t make minimum wage just keep sticking it to these poor underpaid people and decided to take money from us. Don’t get me wrong, this is just one of the many ways our fine representatives have helped us out.
I’ll explain this principle again, and I am certain it won’t be the last time: When you increase the price it costs to make and sell goods, the prices you pay go up. Businesses will NOT take a loss because the minimum wage goes up. They pass that cost increase right on through on every cheeseburger, sack of potatoes or shirt you buy. This means I have less purchasing power for the dollar I make, and the people on minimum wage who we purport to help are back in the same situation within 6 months because they have to buy the same goods at the same prices as everyone else.
So, happy pay-cut day! I hope everyone enjoys it!
Whether or not you agreed with him or who he worked for, Tony was a great communicator. He conveyed a sincerity that many in the media and the political arena should learn and use.

Godspeed, Mr. Snow.
You hear that GOP?
That’s the sound of your coffin being brought in, just a few nails short of completion. The conservatives have been silenced, for now.
Mike Huckabee, you fought a great clean campaign. Thank you for your service. Hope to see you in ‘12.
I disagree with one statement here… that is “The government should use its influence in the public square to support traditional values.” A more accurate statement would be that “The Government should not regulate or interfere with the harmless excercising of religion” (Just to cover radical Islam and the like)
You scored as Socially Conservative Republican. Social conservatives share a belief in traditional morality and social mores and the desire to preserve these in present day society, often through civil law or regulation. The government should use its influence in the public square to support traditional family values.
What’s Your Political Philosophy? |
Tonight, I had the rare and unusual privilege of meeting a nationally known figure. Some love her, some hate her… to the extent that each person had to be searched before entering the auditorium. I speak of none other than the lovely and talented Ann Coulter.
Now, I fully acknowledge that to some that name and slender mass of sex appea…….I mean, very sophisticated and controversial woman… yeah… is repulsive. If you disagree with her you almost certainly cannot utter her name without including some explitives that would otherwise refer to members of the female side of our friends, the Canine species. In fact I first heard of her through a very liberal friend of mine who described her as a “ultra right-wing conservative nazi B****”. I knew then I must research this person.
I like her becuase she’s snarky… she really believes what she says, and she always sticks to her guns. I do agree with *most* of what she says, but of course being two different people we diverge on some issues. It’s during those moments in her speeches and regular TV appearances that I stop hearing the words and admire the beaut….. I mean sophistication… yeah.. of her… brain… right.
So while I don’t like to get political on this blog very often, I will say this: I likes me some Ann Coulter.
