Well, I know I haven’t been a very active blogger this past week, but until the weekend there wasn’t much going on. I have sort of abandoned the Funkadelic Friday homage, but it may make a come back in the weeks to come. Depends on my level of busy-ness.
Got to play some music at a Disciple Now weekend with Matt, Josh and Clay. As usual, these guys are pros and I think this weekend went great. I felt much more comfortable and it seemed like the other guys did too. The weekend evolved as it always does, but I think Saturday night really broke down some great barriers for the kids. It was wonderful to see kids begin to open up and just worship. The speaker (who I don’t have a link on, sorry) was great. He did a great job of getting the kids (and the adults) to think about how we don’t meet the scripture with the same kind of worship we meet music with. It really opened my eyes and made me think about how I worship. Great weekend.
Unfortunately Ann and I didn’t get to hang out nearly as much as we wanted because of sickness hitting the “Ol’ Plunkett Shack” over the weekend. Micah started getting sick Wednesday night/Thursday morning, Ann woke up with it on Friday and somehow I managed to make it until Sunday morning before it hit me. After spending most of Sunday suffering from the funk I woke up today feeling much better, but with that post-funk weakness we all love so much. I skipped work today in hopes of not spreading the nastiness any more. Bad Weekend.
Guys (and wives)… I’m SO SORRY if we gave you the sickness. The good news is, mine lasted 24 hours or less. Get some mashed potatoes, some kool-aid, some tea and hold on. You’ll make it through. Again.. Ann and I are SO SORRY if we gave you the funk.
As a side note, I may do a “Plunkett Shack Dictionary” since some of the slang I use can be interpreted in different ways if you don’t follow context. My writing is very train-of-thought and I can see where my sarcasm might be lost in the written word. I’ll think on that, and if I do one, it will appear on the top link bar of the blog.
Tomorrow it’s back to work for me. Sounds like things at the office have gotten interesting since I left on Thursday.
